5 Years and Counting

Wow, it’s hard to believe it has been five years already. We had our company Christmas Party last weekend and I sat at the table admiring the assemblage of people that had come together as Promus to compound and share their talents with our clients. I felt quite a sense of pride as I recollected our first Christmas gathering where the entire group could almost fit into a large Uber. Now, we fill the private room at the restaurant venue to capacity and overflow into the main dining room. Everyone is smiling, sharing stories of contractors and project struggles, and yes even some discussion of CAD 3D polyline features to daylight a surface …. blah, blah, you lost me.

We certainly could not do it without our fantastic clients, for whom we are blessed to serve and endeavor to be good stewards of the resources they have entrusted to us. So, here’s to our future 10-year Christmas party that perhaps we’ll hold in the Grand Ballroom at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

What a year, what a year!

Wow, this has been one of the busiest years I can remember. Work came in from all facets of our business -- and a lot of it.  We logged 160 new projects in 2017 and many projects from 2016 and earlier continued through the year.  We worked on a record 24 CQA projects in 2017.  We continue to be blessed with great clients and a great team of dedicated stewards to serve our clients.  We added several new team members this year and they are fitting right in and grabbing the rope and pulling with all their might.

Service and stewardship are our founding principles, and thus -- to whom much is given, much is expected.. So once again, in lieu of gifts to our clients, we are very pleased to continue supporting a number of very worthy organizations that do great work helping a great number of people.  So, to our clients who have given to much to us, we are very pleased to support the following organizations:

  • Life Church India Orphanage
  • Children's Advocacy Center of Hamilton County
  • The Choices Center
  • The Crossnore Mountains of Hope School
  • Women's Shelter of Central Arkansas

We are able to support these organizations because of the support of our clients, the hard work of our great employees, and the love and support of our families.  We also want to thank our great vendors and subconsultants/subcontractors who are tremendous and very valuable to the work we do. We are truly blessed and thankful for the relationships we have developed over the years and continue to develop in this great industry.  Thank you all for a great 2017 and we look forward to an even better 2018.

Giving, is receiving ...

Our clients truly blessed us in 2016 and gave us their trust, and we are very grateful. But 2016 was a tough year for many and we were blessed to be able to help and support some of those in need. Here are some of the needs we supported in 2016.

We are thrilled to be able to once again support the efforts of Life Church with their orphanage in India. 2016 will go down in history as the worst flood in the Baton Rouge area. Some of us have lived in the Baton Rouge area, have family in the area, and we have many business associates there. Almost everyone in that area was affected by that flood in some manner. We were able to assist several families with funding to hopefully help them down the path to restoring life to normal.

Blood, Sweat and Tears ...

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what hard work looks like.  Our team of stewards are committed to their profession, our company, and stewardship to our clients and projects. As the temps climb along with the humidity, huge kudos go out to our field staff for their dedication, long hours, and enduring drive to project success.

Thanks for a great year!

The year 2015 will go down in history as another great year for Promus Engineering -- thanks to our great clients, associates, vendors, and of course team.  For your support, guidance, kindness, or love, we say THANK YOU! 

None of our achievements would be possible without the blessings and the talents we were given by the grace of God. We recognize that many, many people in this world do not have access to some of the basic things that we can so easily take for granted, such as shelter, daily food, shoes and clean drinking water.   So, as the year comes to a close, we have the opportunity to share our blessings with some who are less fortunate.  

Due to your support, we were able to make a donation to the Life Church India Orphanage. Life Church supports an orphanage in India that takes in homeless or mistreated children and gives them a home, love, and Christian guidance in a world where there can be little of all three of those precious resources. The smiles and laughter in the above photo tells the story. The following video tells the story.


Global Waste Management Symposium 2016

The 2016 Global Waste Management Symposium [link] is coming up in January in Palm Springs, CA. We first attended the inaugural conference in 2008 and it was a great event (so was the trout fishing on the Colorado River).  This bi-annual event is one of the better conferences, in our opinion, that focuses on solid waste disposal and management technologies. Maybe it's our inner engineer-geek coming out, but this is a more technical oriented conference where design methodologies and research are shared, and we like it.  If you work in our industry, be sure you check out this event and look us up while you are there.
